Virgin StartUp of the week: Viva Acai
The UK is an exciting place to be a food startup, and we're thrilled to be helping so many achieve their dreams. One such business is Viva Acai, a bar selling nutritious acai bowls packed with superfoods - a super-healthy alternative to processed breakfasts and snacks. We caught up with founder Sha Lorente to find out more about her startup!
We choose one Virgin StartUp company to be featured on Virginstartup.org each week. We ask our startups of the week to deliver the ultimate elevator pitch. What would they say if they had one minute in a lift with Sir Richard Branson? Please answer the questions below, keeping each answer to five sentences max.
Ground to floor 1 – Explain what your business does
Viva Acai Superfood Juice Bar is London’s first permanent acai bar specializing in acai bowls with superfood toppings. We also sell freshly-made cold-pressed juices, bottled daily using the finest organic raw vegetables and fruits, and a selection of superfood smoothies, organic coffee, and herbal teas.
Floor 1 to 2 - Where are you based?
Gloucester Arcade, Gloucester Road, West London, SW7.
Floor 2 to 3 – What’s the business model?
Tasty, healthy and nutritious bowls, juices and smoothies - the perfect snacks to give a natural energy boost, all packed for for people on the run to take away.
Floor 3 to 4 – Who are your competitors?
In Gloucester Road, we are surrounded by big brands such as Starbucks, Pret, Café Nero, Paul and many independent cafes, so there is a gap for healthier and organic options. There are many new cold-pressed juice bars opened in London, but not in Gloucester Road… luckily for me!
