As part of your marketing budget, public relations (PR) can help to increase your brand exposure, within your sector and with customers, which ultimately contributes to an increase in sales.
This brand new workshop led by experts from Journolink (an online PR platform), will de-mystify working with journalists and provide key tips and tricks for increasing your media coverage.There will also be a group exercise in which groups produce a media engagement plan for general discussion and evaluation. By end of the workshop you will be fully prepped to kickstart your own publicity campaigns.
Over the course of the masterclass, you will learn:
- Which journalists to target;
- What looks engaging and interesting to journalists;
- The importance of storytelling;
- Ways of engaging with Journalists that get results;
- The importance of news hooks and news angles.
Who is this class for?
This class is for those in an early stage start-up or pre-launch operation, with a defined product, who need media coverage for their brand or business but are nervous about engaging with journalists or don’t know how to engage with the media.
Participants should each arrive with a clear understanding of their business' value proposition.
They should also identify 3 key messages that support or validate their value proposition.
They should identify 3 media targets (in any of print, on line or broadcast sectors) that it would benefit their business to engage with.
About the instructor
Tet Kofi is a PR consultant, newspaper publisher and broadcast journalist with credits on BBC Radio Networks, LBC, ITV and Colourful Radio.
