Ever dreamed of quitting your job to start up a beverage, bar or café? You’re not alone – the UK’s startup drinks scene has never been more exciting. An aptitude for mixology and passion for a good drink are two vital components to running a beverage startup, but there are other considerations too.

The good news is you don’t need a background in the drinks industry to launch a successful business. Join us on the evening of July 12th with two local heroes to discuss how they made their dreams a reality and started their own successful drink businesses.

Speakers

Rupert Holloway

Rupert Holloway, Founder of Conker Gin. From an old Victorian Laundry on the backstreets of Bournemouth, entrepreneur and Conker Spirit founder, Rupert Holloway, has become Dorset’s first independent gin distiller. Beginning the journey only 3 years ago, after losing the love for his career as a chartered surveyor, Rupert had the lightbulb moment of producing a beautifully crafted spirit representative of the Dorset landscape. Rupert's here to tell you how he launched a drink company.

Jim Cregan

Jimmy is the mercurial co-founder of Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, which is now stocked in Ocado, Selfridges, Londis, Waitrose and Tesco. Jimmy has been kind enough to allow us to use his office for this, but will share his story and provide tonnes of useful hints and tips. It’s also a leading UK coffee drink brand, stocked in supermarkets and outlets nationally. Jimmy’s also pretty good at rapping – watch the awesome video he did for Virgin.
