How to Fund your Start-up

At Virgin, we’ve built business after business on the back of our irresistible brand, commitment to purpose and brilliant people.

At Virgin StartUp, we want to use our experience and legacy to help the founders of today and tomorrow create sustainable businesses which thrive.

This MeetUp is for founders and future founders who have started-up or are about to start, and are looking at their options for funding.

Once you've got the killer idea, you've written your business plan, you know what you're going to do and how you're going to do it, you will inevitably need to find some cash. At a certain point for every founder, you will need funding for your start-up, beyond what it is generating in sales. Funding can be essential, whether to develop a website, test a concept, build a prototype or launch marketing campagins. There are a large number of ways to fund your start-up, each with their own benefits and drawbacks. We're here to help you make the right choice for you, and have got a line-up of speakers who have all followed different routes to funding, to tell you their stories and answer your questions.

Our MeetUps are a great way to hear from inspirational founders who have been there and done that, and to network with other local entrepreneurs over a drink and a chat. The Virgin StartUp team are also on hand to answer any questions you may have about starting a business.

Kris Ingham Founder of Rejuvinate Water at Virgin StartUp MeetUp

After growing tired of 'health drinks' compromising on taste, functionality and/or macro health, Kris Ingham quit his job in the City, in 2016, to launch Rejuvenation Water.

With a still and sparkling range now available, harnessing the functional benefits of amino acids, Rejuvenation Water has sold over 500,000 units to date and is available in the likes of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Ocado, Costco and David Lloyd.

To date, Kris has raised over £750,000 in funding from various sources ranging from high street banks, funds and crowdfunding.

From formulating her own lipsticks, foundations and mascaras, Florence is pioneering the face of inclusive beauty, product by product with the latest colour technology. Since launching MDMflow has been stocked in Nasty Gal and Topshop, gained celebrity attention when Lena Dunham wrote about her ‘obsession’ with the brand and has since won contracts with Look Fantastic and Harvey Nichols.
