Christmas opportunities at Virgin Start Up

Christmas might seem a while away yet, but ‘tis fast approaching the season of mince pies, mulled wine, goodwill on earth. And – most importantly for many startups – gift-buying season, where people from all over the land will descend upon your store, whether physical or ecommerce, and buy wonderful things for the people they love. Hopefully.
Here at Virgin we love a great Christmas market – and we also love supporting our startups. So we’ve decided to merge the two with three amazing opportunities. Let’s pull them out of the stocking…
The Virgin Media Christmas Market
On the 2nd December, the Virgin Media offices at Hammersmith will be holding a Christmas market in their offices, offering staff the chance to buy exciting and inspiring Christmas gifts for family and friends – and they want brilliant startups to come along and trade.
Not only will it be a fun opportunity to set up stall in a major London office, but it’s also a chance to meet our staff, and to connect network with other stall-owners. Who knows – maybe you’ll get some of your own Christmas shopping done too!
This is an ideal opportunity for startups that sell products such as sweets and chocolate, accessories and jewellery – things that aren’t too expensive, and which are easy to carry home!
There are only 10 spaces available, so apply quickly using the form at the end of this post before the closing date of 13th November – and good luck!
The market will be held between 10am-4pm on Tuesday 2nd December in Hammersmith, West London. If you require car parking, please let us know when you apply. We will not be able to cover travel expenses or any other costs incurred, so please bear this in mind before registering interest.
The Virgin Management Christmas Market
Can’t make the Virgin Media Christmas Market? Well never fear – because in mid-December (date TBC) the Virgin Management office will be opening their doors to yet more startups! Ho-ho-hooray!
As above, 8 businesses will get the chance to set up in the offices, meet the various teams, and show off your delightful wares. And as an added bonus (if we say so ourselves) the Virgin StartUp team are based in this office – so you’ll also get to meet us directly! It’s an ideal opportunity to both get into the festive spirit and get to know the people behind the VSU initiative better – we’re a friendly bunch, after all. And the others in the building are alright too, we suppose…
Again, the perfect startups for this opportunity would be ones selling gifts that are not too expensive and which are easy to carry home. More information will be coming shortly – so watch this space!
Virgin Trains Pop-Up Stalls
On 6th December, Virgin Trains will have 17 pop-up stalls at stations all around the country – and we need awesome startups to trade on them!
There will be spaces for stalls at the following stations:
Rugby, Coventry, Birmingham International, Wolverhampton, Stafford, Stoke, Macclesfield, Stockport, Crewe, Runcorn, Warrington, Wigan, Preston, Lancaster, Oxenholme, Penrith, Carlisle.
This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses all over the country, as every station sees thousands of passengers every day.
The closing date for this opportunity is 7th November – so act quickly, and good luck!
- Food or beverage businesses are not eligible for this opportunity
- Your annual turnover must be under £2 million, and you must not have more than 9 employees
- You must have liability insurance
