A big shout out to homeware brand Designed in Colour for winning a major industry award!
The British Colour Standard is a historical British colour matching system, born in the 1930s, which allowed countries worldwide to match flags, uniforms, bunting and carpets. Now Virgin StartUp-supported Designed in Colour are bringing this brand back to life through their homeware collections – and the business recently won in the category ‘Commemorative and Collectable Gifts’ at the highly prestigious Gift of the Year awards for their range of British Colour Standard-inspired mugs.
It’s a brilliant achievement, and the products have also proved very popular at trade fairs since launch. Founders Victoria Whitbread and Jacqueline Piper each received a £20,000 loan from Virgin StartUp to develop their business. A huge congratulations to both entrepreneurs - we're excited to see what's next!
