This year, we’re inviting aspiring founders and business owners to make 2026 their year. From Friday 16th January until the end of the month, it's a chance to pause, reflect, and commit to what comes next.

At the heart of Founder Friday is a simple but powerful exercise: writing a letter.

Richard Branson has written a letter to his younger self — a reflection on courage, resilience, and backing yourself when others doubt you. Now, we’re inviting you to write a letter of your own. Not to who you were, but to who you want to become.

When you join the Virgin StartUp Community during Founder Friday, you’ll be invited to write a letter to your future self, one year from now.

Think of it as a time capsule of courage:

• the founder you want to become

• the reminder you’ll need when things feel messy, uncertain, or magical

Seal it with intention.

In 12 months’ time, we’ll send it back to you. An insight from past-you, reminding you exactly why you started.
