We’re thrilled to announce that Virgin StartUp ambassador Rob Manley of Illuminated Apparel made a recent appearance on Dragon’s Den – and won investment from Deborah Meaden!
Illuminated Apparel create interactive glow t-shirts, using an ink that Rob invented in his mum’s kitchen – it’s 10 times brighter and lasts 10 times longer than any of its competitors. Now Deborah Meaden has offered £50,000 for a 20% stake in the business, an offer that Rob accepted.
It tops off a run of exciting achievements for Rob, including the t-shirts featuring on BBC’s The Gadget Show, selling out of t-shirts on e-commerce website Not On The Highstreet two weeks before Christmas, and meeting Richard Branson during the Virgin StartUp ambassadors masterclass. Congratulations to Rob – here’s to a successful 2017!
