StartUp lessons from #VSULive in Cambridge

On the fifth stop in our #VSULive tour we headed to Cambridge – a chance to get face to face with even more of the country’s brilliant entrepreneurs. In the suitably inspiring setting of one of the country’s leading business schools at Anglia Ruskin, we had a room packed full of enterprise-minded folk who were absolutely buzzing to go!

Presenter of the evening David McQueen was on hand with business advice learnt from throughout the tour so far, and our speakers for the event were Julie Deane of The Cambridge Satchel Company, creator of legendary satchels beloved of everyone from university freshers to Vogue, and Sophie Frost of Yucoco, one of our first VSU-funded companies and chocolatiers extraordinaire.

Also present showcasing their wares were another Virgin StartUp funded business, Violet Jay, who source ethically and sustainably-sourced hair extensions; and Virgin Media Pioneers, Sleepy Nico, who create beautiful and unique baby carriers; and The Cambridge Raincoat Company, who create classic raincoats suitable for biking and every day life.

Our next #VSULive event will be held on Tuesday 9th September in Bristol – grab a free ticket here and come along!
