Virgin Management Christmas Fair – let’s get festive!

We recently invited small business owners all over the UK to apply for our Virgin Christmas fairs. We had an amazing response – almost 100 businesses applied for the chance to sell to Virgin employees in a Christmassy extravaganza. We’ve now selected the businesses who’ll be at our Virgin Management Christmas fair at the Battleship Building Paddington for a day of mince pies, bubbly, and Christmas shopping (and selling!)

This isn’t just any Christmas fair, however.  It’s also a chance for the businesses involved to look back at how far they’ve come this year, and an opportunity to meet and connect with people across the different Virgin groups. Hundreds of people work in the Battleship building across many different departments, from Virgin Unite, and Virgin StartUp (us!), and people from other Virgin brands are popping in and out all the time. The businesses chosen will be right in the heart of our office; an invaluable chance to see how we do business, and potentially forge some exciting connections.

With such a high standard of businesses we knew that choosing was going to be very difficult indeed - but after a tough selection process we made our decisions. And here they are!

Candy Baker

Selling a range of leather bags, travel accessories and luxury hosiery, Candy Baker’s goods are perfect for a spot of Christmas indulgence.

We love: Forget Christmas stockings – we’re all about the gold-painted, art deco-inspired tights. Gorgeous!

Axby & Hirst

Axby & Hirst pride themselves on taking unloved things and making them into objects for the home – cheeseboards, storage, wine racks and more.  A true family business, everyone is involved in creating something unique and beautiful.

We love: The personalised antique crates – practical AND decorative!

Ginger Doodles

Ginger Doodles create screen-printed tote bags and artwork. Quirky, cheerful and with a sense of humour, they’re sure to brighten up any home or outfit.

We love: The tote bag designs featuring cats and knitting. Super cute!

Dark Matters

Dark Matters create inventive and delicious handmade brownies. Cooked with love in small batches, they’re a staple of food festivals all round the South of England already.

We love: ‘Big Softy’, the brownie that features party rings, marshmallows, oreos, chocolate digestives and chocolate chunks… we need a sit down just thinking about it!

Smiley Booth

Smiley Booth will be on hand with a range of accessories for those at the fair to dress up in and commemorate the day with Virgin StartUp-branded photobooth pictures!

We love: When it comes to a photo booth, you can’t go wrong with a comedy moustache.

Yours Sustainably

Yours Sustainably sell a wide range of ethically-sourced gifts – from scarves, to cufflinks, to picture frames and beyond. There’s definitely something  for everyone.

We love: The upcycled glass and mirror picture frames – a lovely way to display photos or other objects.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without stocking fillers or festive cards, and Celebrate fulfils your need for both. With a variety of cards and small gifts, it’s a quintessential  festive business!

We love: The customisable cookie stamper – we’d happily find this in our stocking any day!

Thanks to all the brilliant businesses that entered, and we’re sorry that we couldn’t host all of you at the Christmas fair. Check back next year for another go – and have a very merry Christmas!
