WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED ABOUT YOU AND HOW IS IT COLLECTED?Â

We collect information (including personal data) mainly when you sign up to: (i) any of our programmes (e.g.âŻ,Community services, Start Up Loans, Empower 100, Events etc.); (ii) our newsletter; or (iii) our mailing list, when you provide us with information within the Site and when you use products and services made available on the Site or via the services we provide to you.  For example, we may collect and receive personal data when you:Â

Once your application is approved thereâs some optional information that you can choose to provide to add to your profile:Â

 If you have chosen our paid subscription, then our payment processor will collect the necessary data to complete your transaction. We do not have access to, nor do we store your payment card data.  When you use our Community Platform you can comment and post messages with other members. This content along with your profile data will be retained for a minimum of two years or for as long as your account is active. If you want it to be deleted at any time thatâs not a problem, just let us know.Â
WILL WE USE YOUR INFORMATION FOR MARKETING?Â
Once you have given your consent to marketing, we may display offers, promotions, products or services in relation to Virgin StartUp, and on occasion, from one of our trusted partners, on the Site or in the marketing materials we make available to youâŻwhich we think will interest you. We will keep your contact details for marketing purposes and may pass your contact details to third parties (for example, SULCâs corporate partners or SULCâs other delivery partners) for as long as we have your consent to do so or until you tell us that you no longer wish to receive marketing materials by email, post or telephone. You may withdraw your consent to direct marketing by any means and at any time by contacting us using any of the methods detailed in the âTalk to usâ section below. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking on the 'unsubscribe' link included at the bottom of the relevant email.Â
HOW ELSE WILL WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?Â

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP HOLD OF THE INFORMATION?Â

We may share some broader statistics and customer profiling information with third parties and other Virgin entities â but weâll keep it anonymous, so you wonât be identifiable from that data and we contractually require all such partners to treat your personal data as confidential and to fully comply with all applicable data protection law and consumer legislation.Â
In addition, there may be opportunities for your business to be featured by another Virgin entity.âŻâŻWhere such opportunities arise, we may share your website and high level details of your business with the relevant Virgin entity but we will always notify you if you are selected for any of these opportunities.Â

EMPOWER 100 PROGRAMMEÂ
Empower100 is a new programme of support from Virgin StartUp designed to level the playing field for founders growing the businesses they're passionate about. It's been designed to help founders that are Black, Asian or Ethnic Minorities, women founders, or founders with a disability.
Therefore, we ask that you provide us with the details in order to monitor our performance in this area.Â
Please be aware that this programme is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and therefore this data will be shared with the Greater London Authority if your application is successful.Â
HOW WILL WE MAKE SURE OUR SITE IS SECURE?Â
